Jupiter Woods & Another Gaze
Feminist Films of Work & Protest
Sunday 15th December, 5-8.30pm
@ ICA
The Mall, London, SW1Y 5AH
Women's work and the relationship between the narration of labour and protest are addressed through a screening of experimental and documentary shorts followed by a discussion, in this collaboration between Jupiter Woods and Another Gaze.
Chaired by Katrina Black and Daniella Shreir with Hannah Proctor and Michelle Williams Gamaker, the conversation following the screening will consider the difficulties of scale and proportion in relation to forms of resistance.
Drawing links between the speakers’ individual research, the conversation will address Gamaker’s practice of ‘fictional activism’, and Proctor's research on histories and theories of radical psychiatry, including the collaboratively authored text Communist Feelings, by Proctor and Larne Abse Gogarty.
