We are very excited to announce the first public event of Metamorph, a collaboration between Clémentine Bedos, Assia Ghendir, Verity Coward and Holly Hunter.

What is the sound of the changing ?

Come and join us for a live sonic exploration of the transformation of Daphne.

You are welcome to drop in as and when or come for the whole two hours.

RSVP necessary, please email info@jupiterwoods.com if you'd like to attend.

Please note: We advise you to take a lateral flow test before attending and to please not come if you have any COVID symptoms. Please also bring and wear a mask. The main exhibition space and the outdoor back space are wheelchair accessible. Regrettably, our toilet is not wheelchair accessible. If you have any questions with regards to access requirements please email us at info@jupiterwoods.com.

Huge thanks to Jupiter Woods for their support and for hosting this event.

Metamorph is a multi-disciplinary project that revisits the myth of Daphne through a transcultural and multi-species lens. It uses queer methodologies and transmedia storytelling techniques to shift the narrative around the agency of the character in their becoming-tree.
In the traditional representation of this story, Daphne’s transformation has been interpreted as an '𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦' or '𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 '. We see a portal to a holistic metamorphosis, maybe. A becoming inalienably, inextricably enmeshed in a tangled network: 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲/𝗱 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.

Keep an eye out for announcements of events, exhibitions and performances in London and Margate.

Thanks to Jupiter Woods, Mimosa house and Well projects for working with us to share this work in its many different guises. And thanks to James Holcombe for supporting us with ups and downs of 16mm film production.

The Sound of Metamorph is supported by public funding through the National Lottery Project Grants from Arts Council England
